Dr Enric Grustan Gutierrez

Cranfield University

Dr Enric Grustan-Gutiérrez holds a “Top International Managers in Engineering” double master’s degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from BarcelonaTech and the University of Padua (Italy), respectively. He was awarded a Balsells fellowship to pursue a PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of California Irvine. In 2015, he obtained his doctorate for a thesis on the “Multiplexing of electrospray sources for space propulsion and physical sputtering” under the supervision of professor Gamero-Castaño.
 
After his graduation, he joined Lanzalab (Soochow University, China) as a Postdoctoral researcher on 2D materials and microelectronics. During 2016-2019 he joined professor John Stark (Queen Mary University of London) to develop Electrospray Thrusters for the European Space Agency.
 
In September 2019, he was appointed Lecturer in Aerospace Propulsion at the University of Glasgow, where he stayed until 2022. In February of that year, he joined Cranfield University as a Lecturer in Space Engineering.
