With extensive experience in international business development and higher education, Prof Lez Rayman-Bacchus brings a unique combination of management expertise and academic insight. His career spans diverse industries, business environments, and cultural contexts, providing him with a deep understanding of global business dynamics. Additionally, his experience teaching international students from a wide range of racial and ethnic backgrounds has sharpened his awareness of diversity—an essential factor in global business competitiveness.
As the former Course Director for two prestigious master’s programs—MSc Global Business Strategy and MA Corporate Social Responsibility—he played a pivotal role in academic excellence. Under his leadership, 40% of graduates achieved Distinction, a rate ten times higher than the institutional average, with approximately 99% securing relevant employment either during the course or within six months of graduation.
International collaboration forms a key part of his research strategy, with a strong focus on sustainable development. His research explores critical themes such as intergenerational responsibility, the nexus between corporate responsibility and sustainability, sustainability education, and strategic practices within China’s industrial clusters and networks.
He also supervises doctoral students researching a range of impactful topics, including:
- Compliance with anti-money laundering regulations in Russian banking
- The World Bank’s poverty reduction strategy and its impact on the feminization of poverty in developing economies
- Leadership styles in Syrian SMEs
Furthering the discourse on corporate responsibility and sustainability, he founded the International Symposium on Corporate Responsibility & Sustainable Development, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and knowledge exchange in this critical field.
